The 21st Lupus Golf Day was one of sunshine and showers.
10 teams took on the Chartham Park Golf course all looking to win the famous Louise Coote Shield and other competition prizes.
This year for the first time in the history of the competition Tim the organiser could not play, due to knee surgery, however he managed to race around the course in a buggy offering teams the opportunity to refuel with drink and chocolate to counter the sweltering heat.
It was good to see some new faces this year including the Chris Cowdrey Team who put in an marvellous innings.
So the first few hours were played in beautiful sunshine with a clear course in excellent condition. Then, as had been forecast, thunder storms and lightening appeared followed by torrential rain flooding the course and bringing the competition to premature end.
The teams all regrouped in the clubhouse dried out and enjoyed the tasty luncheon provided. Everyone showed an upbeat spirit and after reviewing the score cards and much deliberation by Craig Carter the competition steward the winners were announced.
